Book Launch Party: Alchemy of Herbs

Explore the Medicine Chest In Your Kitchen

You’re invited to attend the book launch party for Alchemy of Herbs at the Trail’s End Bookstore. Local author and herbalist, Rosalee de la Forêt will give a short presentation showcasing some of her favorite herbs. You’ll leave knowing how to transform common ingredients into foods and remedies that heal. Imagine reaching for golden milk to relieve arthritic pains, rosemary tapenade to support heart health and chamomile and rose tea to promote sleep and improve digestion. You’ll never look at these herbs and spices the same again!

An herbal tea will be served alongside bites of cardamom chocolate cake.

Rosalee will also have a special little gift for everyone who buys her book at the launch party.

Dark Money

by

Jane Mayer

Why is America living in an age of profound and widening economic inequality? Why have even modest attempts to address climate change been defeated again and again? Why do hedge-fund billionaires pay a far lower tax rate than middle-class workers? In a riveting and indelible feat of reporting, Jane Mayer illuminates the history of an elite cadre of plutocrats—headed by the Kochs, the Scaifes, the Olins, and the Bradleys—who have bankrolled a systematic plan to fundamentally alter the American political system.

Handmaids Tale

by

 Margaret Atwood

Offred is a Handmaid in the Republic of Gilead. She may leave the home of the Commander and his wife once a day to walk to food markets whose signs are now pictures instead of words because women are no longer allowed to read. She must lie on her back once a month and pray that the Commander makes her pregnant, because in an age of declining births, Offred and the other Handmaids are valued only if their ovaries are viable.
