Rebecca Roanhorse has created a world that one book only begins to explore. A bit of palace intrigue combined with ancient tradition, sacrifice, and a Teek with a love for the sea and a good drink. Xiala is my favorite.
I am looking forward to getting to know each of her characters more fully, and to discover the fate of her beautiful and diverse world.
Black Sun is the start of an epic dark fantasyby author Rebecca Roanhorse. It begins with a ritual sacrifice and ends...well I can't tell you that! But in between, Roanhorse develops a gorgeous and dangerous world with equally dangerous characters. Some of them live their life with the best intentions, while others...not so much. I was enthralled with Black Sun and am looking forward to consuming book two.

I also really appreciate the way that queer and nonbinary characters are portrayed. Roanhorse has written a perfect high fantasy novel and I cannot wait to see where this series takes us next!”
